Prayer & Devotional Groups

Cursillo

Cursillo consists of a four-day, spirit-filled weekend (Thursday evening to Sunday evening) followed by regular gatherings of groups in reunion to share the spiritual journey. Contact Frank McCloskey at 703-455-9309.

Evening Bible Study

This group studies scripture and how it relates to daily life. Using video tours through the Holy Land and spiritual writings, this group has followed prophets and kings, saints and sinners through the history and culture of the times surrounding Christ’s life and death and the founding of the church on earth. Members benefit from sharing and listening, relating what is learned to personal spiritual growth. Meetings are held each Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in the School Library. Morning Bible Study

This program consists of personal study, group discussion, taped lectures, and prayer. The goal is to lead members to a greater understanding of the Bible, an awareness of God’s living presence in scripture, and an appreciation of how the Bible can be applied to daily life. The group meets Tuesdays 9:30-11:15 a.m., September through May in the All Purpose Room. Contact Joan Consoli at 703-690-5922.

Legion of Mary

The Legion of Mary is an association of Catholics who strive for personal spiritual growth through prayer, study of the faith, and spiritual works of mercy. Members meet once a week for prayer, discussion, and planning, and perform two hours of spiritual work each week, such as teaching CCD and visiting nursing homes. Children’s activities include visiting nursing homes and making rosaries.

The evening adult group meets in the All Purpose Room on Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m. The day adult group meets in the All Purpose Room on Fridays at 10:00 a.m. Children meet at 3:00 p.m. Mondays in the Green Room. Prayer Group

The Nativity prayer group consists of men and women seeking a deep awareness and experience of God’s love and the graces and gifts of the Holy Spirit. Its goal is to share the teachings of Christ through prayer, scripture, song, and praise. Periodically the prayer group hosts a seven-week "Life in the Spirit" seminar to teach others how to grow in a personal relationship with Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit.
