After 9 hours of Saturday morning builds, 6 hours of poolside practice, and 3 hours of presentation work, two Nativity teams of three students each competed in the Regional SeaPerch Competition in Manassas on Monday, January 16th.
Team Ladies returned for its second SeaPerch year and, with its re-engineered Ladybug SeaPerch, the team brought home the Gold: First Place in Presentation, First Place in Maneuvering, and FIRST PLACE OVERALL -- and an invitation to the National SeaPerch competition in Atlanta, GA, this May!
Team Manta Rays had an excellent competition as well; team members hurdled every obstacle attempting to thwart them, employing their first-ever SeaPerch project. Team Manta Rays proved victorious by successfully completing every event in the competition. In fact, the team has already started discussing its re-engineered SeaPerch for the 2018 competition!
