Since 1996, Nativity Catholic School provides a Christ-centered learning environment from preschool through 8th grade that fosters strong Christian virtues focused on cultivating the full potential of each child.
NATIVITY STUDENTS ASSEMBLE DONATION AS PART OF HURRICANE HARVEY RELIEF EFFORT
The School Cafeteria was buzzing with excitement -- supplies arrived by the cartful, the boxful, the armful. As part of the September 11th National Day of Service and Remembrance, we had turned our entire cafeteria into a loading zone to help mitigate the suffering in Houston, Texas.
And we went to work!
Every child from Kindergarten to 8th grade played a part in packing individual bags to be given to either a male/female adult or a boy or girl in need.
Selecting from among the new items piled atop long, lunchroom tables, each child packed large Zip-loc bags filled with hygienic items, coloring books and crayons, underwear and socks, etc.
Led by Nativity parents and parishioners, our students produced 1,000 individual bags for the troubled Texans. Before NOON, we were ready to transport our donation to Lake Braddock Secondary School. Lake Braddock´s staff had arranged to have all of our bags trucked down to Houston, along with their donation.
